Our Preschool 4s group looks forward to our field trip every year with Chris Evers from Animal Embassy.
We schedule it around low tide so that we get the best view of the sea life in the inter-tidal zone. We watched carefully in the tide pools for various snails, uncovered rocks to find crabs and learned about the animals that lived in various clam and mussel...

We look forward to our visits from Animal Embassy every month. In January, Animal Chris brought different size and color snakes, a chinchilla (a relative of our pet chinchilla, Peruvia), a rabbit and a bearded dragon – focusing on the different ways that animals are covered.
In February, Animal Tracy, brought frogs of all sizes, colors and talents. With the older children she asked them: “What color is a...
Conditions were perfect for sledding with Coach John today. The snow was soft and deep, the sun was out and the air was mild. After spending last Friday through this Monday dealing with the disruptions and worries of snow, we were reminded of the delight it brings to children and to those of us who get to bear witness to their joy.

Lynn returned from her trip for a special last day before vacation musical celebration. Favorite songs for all ages included “Tidy-O” and “Jingle Bells”. The children hide their bells and eagerly wait for the “jingle at the window, tidy-o” and jump up with delight each and every time.
The preschool children love the Nutcracker and play each of the main roles, Clara, the mice and the soldiers. Lynn...
The unexpected snow day resulted in a sense of disbelief after the interruptions of Super Storm Sandy. There are few holidays that are as magical for young children as Halloween – they love the songs and the costumes (most of them) and we love to see them “become” various characters — we laugh all morning. We know that there wasn’t much...
Summer at CCDC means Coach John’s Wet and Wonderful Days rather than “dog days”. He sets up multiple activities with water that never fail to bring delight to children and smiles from adults. It’s the best way to stay cool on a hot day!
Here are a selection of our favorites:
Duck wash
Slip and slide
Buckets of fun!
The whole group cooling off
Puddle dancing
The "big" water slide
A water fight amongst...
