Our Classrooms
Growing Together Through Every Stage of Early Childhood
Every stage of childhood deserves to be celebrated.
At CCDC, children grow within a community that values relationships, honors childhood, and embraces each stage of development for exactly what it is. Our classrooms are intentionally designed to meet children where they are today while providing the support, encouragement, and experiences that help them confidently take the next step when they are ready.
Childhood Grows Here
One of the greatest gifts of the CCDC experience is the opportunity for children and families to grow together.
Each August, children move into their next classroom alongside the friends and families who have shared their journey throughout the year. Classroom placement is based on each child's age on September 1, creating classroom communities where relationships continue to deepen year after year.
As children grow, so do the connections between families. What begins as classmates often becomes lasting friendships, creating a community that extends well beyond the classroom walls.
| Classroom | Age by Sept. 1 | Ratio |

| Infants | Born before Sept. 1 | 8:3 |
| Young Toddlers | 1 year old | 8:3 |
| Older Toddlers | 2 year old | 15:4 |

Infants
The Infant classroom is a place where children are deeply known, lovingly cared for, and encouraged to explore the world around them at their own pace. Every child's individual routine is embraced while meaningful relationships flourish. Teachers speak with children, not at them, support big feelings, introduce the world through responsive interactions, and provide gentle challenges that build confidence and curiosity.
Young Toddlers
As children begin walking, climbing, and communicating in new ways, their personalities shine.
Movement, exploration, language, process art, dramatic play, and outdoor discovery fill each day
as children collect seeds, search for bugs, climb, run, and take thoughtful risks.
Older Toddlers
The Older Toddler years are marked by remarkable growth in independence, language, confidence, and imagination. Potty learning, larger playground adventures, richer dramatic play, early writing interests, and growing persistence are celebrated as children discover who they are becoming.
Preschool Three's
Children deepen self-help skills, strengthen friendships, solve problems through language, expand dramatic play, and develop an increasingly sophisticated understanding of their classroom, community, and world.
Preschool Four's
Children become active contributors to their classroom community. Classroom jobs, the writing table, child-created displays, extended projects, small-group learning, and field trips foster independence, curiosity, collaboration, and confidence.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
Every classroom has direct access to outdoor learning environments used throughout the year.
Infants enjoy their own shaded deck and outdoor exploration space. Young Toddlers have a dedicated playground designed for early climbing, running, and large body movement. Older Toddlers and both Preschool classrooms share an expansive outdoor environment with climbing structures, natural grass, woodchips, mud kitchens, a large sandbox, seasonal water play, tree climbing, bikes, scooters, chalk, and two fields that become spaces for sledding, slip-and slides, and endless exploration.
For us, the outdoors is not a break from learning. It is one of our most important classrooms.
Our Shared Approach
While every classroom reflects the developmental needs of the children within it, all classrooms share the same foundation.
Children learn through play, open-ended exploration, meaningful relationships, and authentic experiences. Behavior is viewed as communication, conflict is embraced as an opportunity for learning, and children are encouraged to become thoughtful problem-solvers and critical thinkers.
Natural light, thoughtfully designed environments, children's artwork, and displays reflecting the identities of children and families create welcoming spaces where everyone belongs.
We'd Love to Show Around
The best way to experience our classrooms is to visit them. Every family tour is personally led by our Director and includes each classroom, shared community spaces, and our outdoor learning environments.
